  • What is the Carbon Positive Programme for Ships (CPPS)?

    The Carbon Positive Programme for Ships (CPPS) is an all-encompassing emissions management programme, comprising of three key phases:

    + Comprehensive training on emissions management best practice for company personnel and crew

    + When maximum emissions reductions are achieved, the programme provides offsetting consultancy and access to offset projects

  • How can I become a supporter?

    By following a clear and self-explanatory application procedure on line. Prospective supporters also receive membership privileges, including access to market analysis, the use of Carbon Positive's branding and visibility on the Carbon Positive website

  • How do I get my SEEMP, EEDI and EEOI?

    By subscribing for membership to CPPS. For more information please read the section explaining how CPPS works online.

  • How does CPPS help vessel’s fuel efficiency?

    Following an innovative and scientific energy audit on board the vessel, technical and operational measures are selected and implemented, resulting in fuel economies.

  • What are the required vessel criteria to join the CP programme?

    There are no barriers to gaining membership to the CPPS.

  • Is the CPPS a rating system?

    No. The primary objective of the CPPS is to reduce emissions.

  • Are CPPS members’ names disclosed publicly?

    We do not share information with third parties without the written consent off our clients.

  • Who can participate?

    The CPPS has been specifically developed for vessel owners, operators and managers.

  • What is the scope of the programme?

    + To ensure efficient regulatory compliance, both now (EEDI & SEEMP) and in preparation for the future.

    + To measure, reduce and manage carbon emissions cost effectively and responsibly.

    + To improve fuel efficiency through the application of technical and operational measures.

    + To help members learn, prepare and act early before regulation.

    + To promote members actions thus maximising commercial success and enhancing members' CSR activities.

    + To develop the right carbon strategy through offsetting.

  • How to apply for membership to the programme?

    You can contact Carbon Positive directly or complete a request for membership application available online.

  • Is there a deadline for application to the programme?

    There is no deadline for application. Membership of the CPPS runs for a year from the date of commencement and is renewed on an annual basis.
